The texture of this chunky-knit wool originates from the handcrafted sweaters of Indigenous peoples in Canada and Northern Europe. Unlike the fine-spun wool commonly seen on the market—such as our turtlenecks made of fine wool that resist pilling fairly well—chunky wool is the only choice for maintaining the authentic handmade sweater look. Fine wool struggles to achieve the same solidity and natural texture, and often appears too refined in style.
